On Monday morning, it was exam day.

". . ." Jiang Shuyi was done with the exam paper and sat in the exam room yawning, unable to sit still as she started gazing out the window.

The weather wasn't great today, it was foggy.

Jiang Shuyi glanced around the examination room. A middle-aged male teacher was sitting at the podium with one ear wearing earbuds. Jiang Shuyi had sharp hearing and could hear that the teacher was listening to the 9 o'clock news through the leaking sound from his earbuds.

Since this was the first exam room counting backwards, the students inside were either absent or sprawled out sleeping. Only three or four were seriously writing, while most had casually scribbled a few notes before giving up and resting their heads on the desks.

Jiang Shuyi straightened her back and stretched.

She looked at the clock above her head, there was still some time left before the exam would end.

So, she began to double-check her answers.

Not long after, the bell rang.

The exam was over.

"Alright, now put down your pens." the middle-aged male teacher said from the podium.

Jiang Shuyi shifted her gaze from the paper and started to pack her stationery.

After the papers were collected, she stretched again, slowly stood up, and leisurely walked out of the examination room.

However, just as she was about to step out the door, she bumped into a classmate.

The other person's admission ticket and pencil case fell to the ground.

Jiang Shuyi quickly picked up the admission ticket from the floor and handed it to the person, "Sorry."

When she took a closer look, she realized the person she had bumped into was Yan Jingshu.

Yan Jingshu had decent grades, considered to be above average, so she shouldn't have been assigned to the last examination room.

However, she had just returned to school recently and hadn't taken any exams for several months, so naturally, her last exam results were unrecorded, placing her in the same last examination room as Jiang Shuyi.

Hearing Jiang Shuyi's apology, Yan Jingshu looked at her and took her admission ticket, but when she saw Jiang Shuyi's eyes, which no longer held any emotion for her, she momentarily felt a bit dazed.

". . ." Jiang Shuyi watched her take the admission ticket and silently walked forward.

Seeing her leave, Yan Jingshu found it hard to maintain her usual expression.

She tightly clutched her admission ticket, her lowered eyelashes giving her a vulnerable appearance just standing there, yet Jiang Shuyi didn't look at her.

Jiang Shuyi and Yan Jingshu were heading in the same direction.

They both needed to return to the classroom, so they walked one after the other.

Halfway down the corridor, they encountered Song Jinxi, who was coming out of the examination room ahead.

Song Jinxi paused when she saw the two of them.

"Oh? How did you both do on the exam?" she casually asked.

"I think I did well." Jiang Shuyi replied.

Jiang Shuyi genuinely felt she had done well, although the other two might not believe her at all.

Yan Jingshu, with a somewhat nonchalant smile, looked at Song Jinxi, "Are you asking me?"

Seeing her teasing smile, Song Jinxi decided not to ask further.

The three of them walked silently down the noisy corridor, as if they had some deep-seated grudge against each other, with no one willing to speak...

Song Jinxi walked in the middle.

After a while, unable to stand the atmosphere, she picked up her exam paper and began to ask the two, "Hey, for the second-to-last question on the first page of the exam, what did you both choose?"

Yan Jingshu raised her chin proudly and confidently said, "B."

"A." Almost simultaneously, Jiang Shuyi opened her paper to answer.

Jiang Shuyi and Yan Jingshu paused, both frowning in disagreement at each other's answers.

"How could you think to choose A?"

"B was clearly out from the start, right?"

Song Jinxi looked at her own exam paper, frowning as she looked at Yan Jingshu and Jiang Shuyi, "Wasn't it C?"

---

The teacher supervising Wen Yao's exam just happened to be the chemistry teacher from their class.

After supervising the exam, he conveniently handed Wen Yao a stack of quiz papers.

"This is the homework for today and tomorrow. When your classmates return, give it to them to complete before the day after tomorrow."

Wen Yao accepted the stack of papers and began distributing them to her classmates.

As she was handing them out to the middle row of the classroom, she saw Yan Jingshu and Jiang Shuyi walking in.

The two seemed to be arguing about something.

Wen Yao paused for a moment, then continued to distribute the quiz papers as if nothing had happened.

She walked over to her two classmates, pulled out two papers, and before she could set them down, she overheard them looking at Jiang Shuyi and saying, "What are the school belle and Miss Yi talking about?"

"Did Miss Yi finally get together with her after pursuing her for so long?"

"The quiz is due the day after tomorrow."

Wen Yao interrupted their conversation and handed the quiz papers to them.

For some reason, the two felt that Wen Yao's gaze toward them was somewhat cold.

---

Not long after, Wen Yao walked to Jiang Shuyi's desk.

She silently placed the quiz paper on Jiang Shuyi's desk.

Jiang Shuyi, still arguing with Yan Jingshu, saw Wen Yao approach and immediately smiled, "Wen Yao."

But Wen Yao only placed the quiz paper down and left Jiang Shuyi's desk without looking up.

Thinking Wen Yao hadn't heard her greeting, Jiang Shuyi quickly took out the exam paper from earlier and chased after her. "Wen Yao, do you know the answer to this question?"

Wen Yao stopped.

After a moment, she slowly turned around, glanced at the exam question, and then looked at Jiang Shuyi.

Just when Jiang Shuyi thought she would tell her the answer, Wen Yao coldly said, "I don't compare answers with classmates after an exam because the questions that have been taken are already in the past. Comparing them now is pointless."

"Focusing on the next exam is the responsible thing to do."

Wen Yao spoke to Jiang Shuyi in an almost lecturing tone, her words sounding quite fair and impartial.

"...Oh, okay." Jiang Shuyi thought about it and felt that Wen Yao wasn't wrong.

So she nodded at Wen Yao, focusing closely on her.

Yan Jingshu watched Jiang Shuyi's gaze toward Wen Yao and felt a twinge of discomfort.

She no longer engaged in conversation with Jiang Shuyi and silently made her way to her seat. When she noticed a quiz laid out on her desk, a sudden wave of discontent hit her, prompting her to grab the paper and leave the classroom.

---

Song Jinxi had just returned from the restroom when she bumped into Yan Jingshu.

The quiz paper in Yan Jingshu's hand fell to the ground, but she didn't bother picking it up and stormed off.

Seeing the chemistry quiz that Yan Jingshu had dropped at the door, Song Jinxi sighed and picked it up, following behind her. "Yan Jingshu, you dropped something."

Noticing that Song Jinxi had caught up with her, Yan Jingshu quickened her pace.

"Why are you walking so fast?" Song Jinxi ran up to her. "Are you just going to leave this behind?"

". . ."

Yan Jingshu stopped, somewhat annoyed, and extended her hand, "Just give it to me."

"......Miss Yan, did someone upset you again?"

Song Jinxi sighed, not handing over the paper, as she instinctively felt that if she did, this young lady would either throw it away or tear it up.

"Who could upset me?"

Yan Jingshu raised her gaze and chuckled lightly.

But just then, she happened to glance over Song Jinxi's shoulder and saw Jiang Shuyi.

Jiang Shuyi was still talking to Wen Yao.

Yan Jingshu bit her lip, and her smile fading.

Song Jinxi noticed where Yan Jingshu's gaze was focused and saw Jiang Shuyi. She sighed, "If you had told her you liked her before, there wouldn't be so many issues."

"I like her?" Yan Jingshu laughed, "Don't joke around."

". . ."

Just as Song Jinxi was about to say something, Yan Jingshu hugged her arms and whispered something.

"What did you say?" Song Jinxi asked.

"......I'm just not used to it..."

Yan Jingshu raised her head, her eyes slightly red.

Song Jinxi, who had expected to hear Yan Jingshu's stubbornness, was momentarily taken aback by her expression.

"......Huh?" Song Jinxi reflexively replied.

"I'm just not used to it..."

Yan Jingshu repeated, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

Although her eyes were red, the usually proud and self-respecting princess bit her lip, still showing an arrogant expression.

Song Jinxi paused for a moment, holding Yan Jingshu's quiz paper, ". . ."

"I'm not used to Jiang Shuyi not looking at me anymore, not used to her not following me anymore."

Yan Jingshu seemed to casually cradle her arms, letting out a faint laugh, "Is that wrong?"

"I still think that she should like me, that her eyes should be on me."

"Is that wrong?"

Even though Yan Jingshu tried to keep her usual high-and-mighty demeanor, the moisture in her eyes was undeniable.

Having known Yan Jingshu for so long, this was the first time Song Jinxi had seen her show such an expression.

Song Jinxi had observed the relationship between Yan Jingshu and Jiang Shuyi.

It certainly couldn't be called a healthy relationship, she thought.

Yan Jingshu had often toyed with Jiang Shuyi, causing her a great deal of pain.

Those wounds were what Song Jinxi had comforted her for.

Then, as soon as Yan Jingshu treated Jiang Shuyi just a bit better, Jiang Shuyi would forgive all her faults.

Song Jinxi felt that they would continue to drain each other like this forever.

But perhaps no matter how much one likes someone, it could be worn down. Even the most carefree person seems to remember every pain in their heart, so Jiang Shuyi no longer liked Yan Jingshu.

In fact, this was all Yan Jingshu's own doing.

Yet, as a friend of this proud Omega, hearing her say she found it hard to get used to, Song Jinxi couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for her.

Unlike herself and Jiang Shuyi, Yan Jingshu had been raised in an elite education family since childhood.

Her mother demanded that she be reserved, and her father required her to be noble, they wanted her never to bow to anyone.

So Yan Jingshu had always been like a proud swan, never bowing her head to anyone, always expecting others to like her. She wouldn't lower herself to say, "Thank you, I like you too," to the point where she didn't even know how to express her feelings of affection, only able to convey her emotions with a "not used to it"...

". . ." Seeing Yan Jingshu like this, Song Jinxi could only pat her shoulder and sigh. "Let's go back to the classroom, Yan Jingshu."

"You'll catch a cold if you stand out here too long."

---

"Jiang Shuyi," seeing Yan Jingshu walk out, Wen Yao turned her head and said quietly, "You left something at my place yesterday."

"Is it my notebook? I noticed it was missing when I got back yesterday." Jiang Shuyi thought.

"......Yeah." Wen Yao replied.

There was one more thing... Wen Yao thought, but for some reason, she didn't say it out loud.

Jiang Shuyi stood up and followed Wen Yao to her desk.

Wen Yao handed the notebook that was on her desk to Jiang Shuyi.

"Thank you." Jiang Shuyi smiled.

Jiang Shuyi planned to head back to her seat with the notebook, but after taking a few steps, she felt her clothes being tugged.

Turning around, she found Wen Yao sitting at her desk, holding onto the hem of her shirt.

"What's wrong? Is there something else?" Jiang Shuyi asked.

Wen Yao reached for the paper bag hanging beside her desk.

Jiang Shuyi looked at Wen Yao, her expression puzzled.

The self-study bell rang.

Wen Yao glanced at the teacher coming in from outside and quietly hung the paper bag back up.

"No, it's nothing."

"......Oh, then I'll head back."

Wen Yao nodded silently.

After Jiang Shuyi returned to her seat, Wen Yao looked at the paper bag hanging beside her, her gaze dropping in silence.

Washing it clean and returning it to Jiang Shuyi would be the same...

She probably wouldn't mind...

Wen Yao clenched her hands tightly.
