Song Jinzhi sat on the balcony, sipping her coffee, her gaze wandering over the passing cars. It wasn't that the cars were particularly appealing, rather, every morning when she woke up to face another monotonous day, she needed something to help her calm down. She knew that her current life was typical for most Omegas, who had their paths defined for them from birth.

Grow up, go to school, come of age, go into heat, have a brief career, marry an Alpha, and then become a wife and mother, living a mundane and uneventful life. Every time she thought about this, a faint bitterness would rise in her heart, as she realized she was on that same path, getting closer to the version of herself she despised the most.

"A'jin, what are you doing?" Jing Yu's face suddenly appeared on the communicator, and Song Jinzhi forced a smile, picking up the coffee beside her to show her.

"Nothing much, just having coffee. What about you? Didn't you say you've been really busy lately? Why do you suddenly have time to contact me?" Song Jinzhi didn't want to show her friend her frustration, and clearly, her disguise was quite effective.

"I missed you, so I called. It's not a workday today, so you must be feeling a bit lost." Jing Yu said casually, completely unaware of the helplessness that flashed in Song Jinzhi's eyes. The two fell silent for a moment, before Jing Yu spoke up again. "A'jin, how about going to a concert with me tonight? The pianist performing tonight is fantastic, you'll love her." Jing Yu said earnestly, and Song Jinzhi was a bit curious upon hearing this because she knew Jing Yu's fickle nature, if she praised someone, that pianist must be good.

"What time does it start?"

"7 p.m. I'll come to pick you up. If that person in your house dares to stop you from going out, I'll give her a piece of my mind." Jing Yu said softly, and Song Jinzhi chuckled at her words. She knew that Gu Sijiu wouldn't restrict her from going out like before, rather than controlling her, she seemed more preoccupied with skincare...

After agreeing with Jing Yu, Song Jinzhi suddenly felt a sense of anticipation with the addition of this outing. She quietly read in her room and then spent the two hours before the agreed time dressing up. Gu Sijiu, holding the latest face mask she had bought, just entered the house and saw Song Jinzhi coming down from upstairs, looking extremely beautiful, as if she was going out on a date. Gu Sijiu couldn't help but take a few more glances and gave this outfit of Song Jinzhi's a very high score.

Song Jinzhi was indeed beautiful. Gu Sijiu never denied this in her heart, even if she didn't say it out loud. She had a tall and slender figure that most Omegas lacked, appearing slim while still having curves in all the right places. She was wearing a black knee-length dress with a slit at the front hem, revealing her fair legs with every step she took.

On either side of her ribcage was a hollow design, with two black straps wrapping around her collarbone and connecting to the fabric at the back. The neckline of the dress was not too high, revealing a prominent cleavage and partially obscured curves. This dress was boldly designed and quite difficult to pull off, yet on Song Jinzhi, it didn't come off as vulgar at all. Instead, it exudes an air of elegance.

Her hair was styled up, and she adorned her neck with a diamond necklace, her makeup flawless. Even though her expression showed some displeasure upon seeing herself, she was still beautiful. Gu Sijiu admired her, feeling a pure pleasure in witnessing such beauty. When their eyes met, Song Jinzhi didn't detect any malice in Gu Sijiu's gaze, which surprised her slightly.

After all, in the past, whenever she dressed up a little to go out, Gu Sijiu would have mocked her sarcastically. Back then, Gu Sijiu seemed like a twisted and ugly bug, and her gaze alone made Song Jinzhi uncomfortable. But now, things were different, the admiration in Gu Sijiu's eyes was too obvious.

"That dress is nice, it suits you well." Gu Sijiu praised sincerely, although deep down, she still felt that she would look more beautiful and sexy in such a dress than Song Jinzhi, of course, based on her own figure as a reference.

"Mm." Song Jinzhi only lightly responded to Gu Sijiu's words, eager to leave and not keep Jing Yu waiting.

"Have fun." Gu Sijiu said before eagerly heading upstairs with her face mask, showing no signs of reluctance, not even asking where she was going or what she was going to do. The sudden freedom made Song Jinzhi feel somewhat uncomfortable, but on second thought, if Gu Sijiu really stopped asking her about her whereabouts in the future, it might not be a bad thing.

"How was it? Did she give you a hard time?" Jing Yu asked Song Jinzhi as soon as she got in the car. She shook her head and said it was fine. Seeing no visible injuries on her body and her complexion looking good, Jing Yu relaxed. The two drove to the venue of the concert, with still half an hour before it started, and many people were already getting ready to enter. Song Jinzhi noticed that most of the attendees were dressed in suits and formal attire, behaving very politely. It was her first time at such a concert, and she didn't expect the atmosphere to be so solemn.

"The performer today is quite famous. Trust me, you will love her music." Jing Yu said mysteriously, then led Song Jinzhi into the concert hall. After they took their seats, Song Jinzhi realized they were in the VIP section, making her believe that Jing Yu really liked the performer for tonight's show.

Before the performance started, all the seats were filled. After a while, the stage gradually darkened, leaving only the spotlight on the pure white piano on the platform. As the show officially began, a female Alpha stepped out from behind the curtain. Song Jinzhi could feel the excitement of the people around her, they were all quite enthusiastic yet held back their impulse to scream.

Song Jinzhi focused her gaze on the Alpha, observing her carefully. It was clear that she was a well-mannered and graceful person. Dressed in a floor-length white gown, she elegantly walked to the piano, bowed to the audience, and then took her seat. Her long black hair cascaded down her back, and her face was adorned with a somewhat vintage light makeup, giving her a classic look.

She had a high nose and delicate features, with rosy lips curling into a beautiful smile that appeared almost sacred under the lights. Her large, almond-shaped eyes were shaded with light eyeshadow, conveying a very gentle vibe. As she placed her hands on the piano keys, a single note rang out, immediately captivating the audience.

Initially, Song Jinzhi had come to accompany someone, but as the performance progressed, she found herself immersed in the music, unable to pull away. Even after the hour-long performance ended, the melodies lingered in her mind, making it hard to focus. Noticing her distraction, Jing Yu felt a sense of satisfaction. Instead of rushing home after leaving the venue, they decided to grab dinner first.

"A'jin, I have a friend coming over. How about the three of us have a meal together?" Jing Yu said softly. When Song Jinzhi heard that another friend would join, she didn't object. Once they arrived at the restaurant and had just taken their seats, they heard another set of footsteps. Looking back, Song Jinzhi was surprised to see that it was none other than the pianist from earlier—Wen Qiulan. Before leaving, she had even taken a glance at the pianist's name.

"Sorry, I was changing clothes and got here a bit late. A'yu, it's been a while." Wen Qiulan said. It was the first time Song Jinzhi heard her speak, as she had remained silent throughout the performance. Her voice was incredibly gentle, as soft as water, and despite being an Alpha, she didn't carry any imposing aura, which was quite unusual.

"It's fine! I know you're busy. Please, have a seat. This is my friend, Song Jinzhi—it's her first time seeing your performance." Jing Yu introduced them. Wen Qiulan then sat next to Jing Yu. Throughout the meal, Jing Yu played the role of a mediator, encouraging conversation between Wen Qiulan and herself, while Song Jinzhi sensed that she was intentionally trying to connect her with Wen Qiulan. Considering Jing Yu's intentions, Song Jinzhi chose not to address it, especially since Wen Qiulan was indeed someone she could relate to.

Song Jinzhi loved reading, and it turned out that Wen Qiulan was also an avid reader. They quickly fell into conversation, both feeling an instant connection. Watching them engage, Jing Yu felt pleased with her arrangements. When Wen Qiulan stepped away to use the restroom, Jing Yu couldn't help but exchange knowing glances with Song Jinzhi.

"Hey, how's it going? Let me tell you, Teacher Wen is an exceptional Alpha. I know you two will get along." Jing Yu said, no longer hiding her intentions. She genuinely wanted Song Jinzhi and Wen Qiulan to get to know each other, and it would be even better if they developed feelings, especially since she couldn't stand Gu Sijiu in every way.

Hearing this, Song Jinzhi felt a bit helpless. She was indeed willing to be friends with Wen Qiulan, but only as friends. After all, she was engaged, and Gu Sijiu represented not just herself but the entire Gu family.

"A'yu, thank you, but I'm already engaged. Please don't think about this any further. Teacher Wen is indeed an outstanding Alpha, and I'm glad to have met her, but we're not suited to be together." Song Jinzhi admitted her appreciation for Wen Qiulan, but she didn't feel any romantic attraction towards her.

"Oh, I understand. Honestly, I didn't have any ulterior motives at first. I used to be a fan of Teacher Wen, and after meeting her a few times backstage, we became friends. A'jin, I understand your concerns, and I won't do this again next time." Jing Yu said apologetically. Hearing her apology, Song Jinzhi shook her head, signaling that it wasn't a big deal.

After their conversation, they waited a bit longer for Wen Qiulan to return before deciding to leave. As they were heading out, Song Jinzhi's mind wandered to Gu Sijiu, and in a moment of distraction, she accidentally missed a step on the stairs and stumbled. Wen Qiulan, who was behind her, quickly reached out to steady her but then stepped back a little to maintain distance.

"Sorry, Miss Song." Wen Qiulan said softly. She understood that Alpha and Omega should not easily touch, but in that moment, if she hadn't helped Song Jinzhi, she might have fallen.

"It's fine, I wasn't paying attention." Song Jinzhi smiled lightly. The three of them then parted ways and went home.

Song Jinzhi called a car to take her back. Upon opening the door, she happened to see Gu Sijiu sitting on the sofa. She was wearing an extremely revealing deep-V red dress, and even at home, her lips were painted a vivid red. Strangely enough, she was swaying a wine glass filled with milk instead of red wine...

A wave of irritation washed over Song Jinzhi. Yes, seeing Gu Sijiu always annoyed her...
