Evie had absolute confidence in her own charm. Similarly, she believed that no one could escape her pursuit if she set her sights on them. However, after meeting Wen Qiulan, she began to doubt herself for the first time. Evie could clearly sense that Wen Qiulan was distancing herself, a feeling that had started after that night she stayed over and had continued until now.

Despite Wen Qiulan's efforts to act as if everything was normal, her flaws were glaringly obvious and easily noticed by Evie. For instance, whenever there was any physical contact, Wen Qiulan would quickly pull away, showing obvious reluctance. Evie didn't think it was because Wen Qiulan had discovered what she did that day. If that were the case, Wen Qiulan would have chosen to end the lessons directly instead of creating distance. So, the only reason Evie could think of was that Wen Qiulan had realized her intentions towards her, leading to her rejection?

Evie couldn't understand Wen Qiulan's thoughts. She even called Gu Sijiu to ask under what circumstances an Alpha would dislike contact with an Omega. Gu Sijiu bluntly replied, "It's either because they dislike that specific Omega or perhaps that Omega's pheromones just smell bad." Although this made Evie so angry that she hung up the phone, she still reflected seriously on the matter.

First of all, Wen Qiulan couldn't possibly dislike her. Someone like Wen Qiulan, if she really disliked a person, would politely let them know and then completely cut off contact, rather than maintaining this ambiguous distance. Secondly, Evie believed she smelled good, had a beautiful face, and a perfect figure, so Gu Sijiu's comments had nothing to do with her.

With a different mindset, Evie arrived at Wen Qiulan's piano classroom. Today, she didn't wear heavy makeup but kept it simple, giving her complexion a somewhat fragile appearance. Seeing the slippers already prepared at the door, Evie stepped inside the classroom. Wen Qiulan had already prepared two cups of coffee, and upon seeing Evie, the worry in her eyes was evident.

"Xiao Yi, are you not feeling well?" Wen Qiulan glanced at Evie, who didn't look very well. She actually wanted to ask what was wrong, but remembering her previous decision, she swallowed her words.

"Mm, Teacher Wen, let's start the lesson." Evie replied, sensing Wen Qiulan's hesitation. For the rest of the time, the two of them quietly went through the class, but Evie seemed somewhat distracted, making frequent mistakes in many simple places. When Wen Qiulan suggested a break, she saw Evie looking at her sadly, with her eyes slightly reddened.

"Teacher Wen, I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well today, and I have something I'd like to discuss with you." Evie said softly, showing a troubled expression on her face. Upon hearing this, Wen Qiulan sat down across from her.

"Xiao Yi, if you're not feeling well, you can take a few days off. As for class..."

"Teacher Wen, did I do something wrong?"

Evie interrupted Wen Qiulan's words, raising her head to look at Wen Qiulan. She saw Evie looking somewhat stubborn, her eyes moist, a faint smile on her face that wasn't genuine but rather an attempt to hide her sadness and confusion. Wen Qiulan felt a pang in her heart at Evie's gaze, and a familiar sense of guilt washed over her.

"Xiao Yi, why would you think that way?"

"Because it seems like your attitude toward me has changed lately. I've been wondering if I lack talent for playing the piano, or if I did something wrong that made you start to dislike me. If that's the case, I hope you can tell me where I've fallen short."

Evie appeared genuinely upset. Hearing her speak this way shocked Wen Qiulan. She thought her behavior hadn't been obvious during this time, yet Evie had easily picked up on it. She admitted that she had indeed been distancing herself from Evie. However, it wasn't a complete alienation—it was more about wanting to restore a more ordinary teacher-student relationship after their previous closeness made Wen Qiulan feel like boundaries were being crossed.

Evie was an easy person to get along with, and Wen Qiulan liked her a lot. Her affection for Evie had initially been pure, but Wen Qiulan sensed that Evie's feelings were changing. She had thought it was possible for them to be good friends, but the events of that morning made her realize that it wasn't easy for an Alpha to maintain a simple friendship with an Omega. Wen Qiulan wanted to revert to a normal teacher-student relationship, which was why she had intentionally distanced herself.

"Xiao Yi, it's not that you did anything wrong, nor do I dislike you. It's just... I'm a single Alpha, and I shouldn't get too close to you." Wen Qiulan spoke honestly, knowing that Evie came from a good family background, was a young and beautiful Omega with a good personality. Such a girl would attract many admirers, and Wen Qiulan didn't want her presence to cause any scandal or trouble for Evie.

"Teacher Wen, I don't understand what you're saying. You're my teacher, and I'm your student. What's wrong with us being a bit closer? Besides, you are the best Alpha I've ever met in terms of character and temperament. Any Omega would likely be drawn to you." Evie said softly, guessing that Wen Qiulan's words were influenced by the physiological reaction from that morning.

Thinking of this, Evie regretted her impulsive actions toward Wen Qiulan, nearly ruining the entire plan. She felt both remorseful and frustrated, yet she also believed that an Alpha like Wen Qiulan was truly becoming rare. The latter part of Evie's statement came from her heart, Wen Qiulan truly was the best Alpha Evie had ever encountered.

"Xiao Yi, you're still young, and you haven't experienced much yet. Many Alphas have terrible temperaments, and their facades are far deeper than you might think. When they lose their rationality, they can do things that hurt you. The true nature of most Alphas is quite frightening." Wen Qiulan said softly, naturally recalling that morning incident.

After that morning, she began to doubt her self-control and certain behaviors. Since childhood, her mother taught her that as an Alpha with exceptional qualities, she should not use that as an excuse to bully others. She worked hard to respect every Omega and Beta and had always been polite to everyone, never expecting to behave in such a way toward her student.

Now looking back, the physical sensations were still vivid. She remembered how her sensitive areas reacted upon touching an Omega's body—a reaction she couldn't control, which made her feel both ashamed and unfamiliar. She didn't want to get closer to Evie again. She was afraid that something unexpected might happen, causing her to hurt a student who trusted her.

"But Teacher Wen, you're different, you mean something special to me. Do you understand what I mean?" Evie felt a tightness in her chest at Wen Qiulan's words. Especially the way she kept saying "you're still young," it made Evie feel as if she were reaping what she had sown. She wanted to tell Wen Qiulan that she was not young anymore, neither physically nor mentally. Yet, in front of Wen Qiulan, she was her student, her junior, to the extent that Wen Qiulan's tone felt like that of an elder.

Evie really wanted to know how Wen Qiulan would react if she pressed her down on the piano and kissed her. Without needing to guess, she knew it would be incredibly cute and exciting. But Evie also understood that if she did that, it would likely push her and Wen Qiulan even further apart.

"Teacher Wen, I understand what you mean. I'm not feeling well today, so I'll head back now." Evie said softly, trying to appear calm and composed as she picked up her bag and left. Wen Qiulan watched Evie's retreating figure in confusion as she sat down in the spot Evie had just occupied and ran her fingers over the piano keys. This was the first time she sat at the piano with a blank mind.
